Is the square root of 25 an integer because it equals 5 which is an integer?

An integer is also called a whole number .
It is not usual for square roots to be integers.
This only happens if the number under de root is a square.
This is because square-rooting is just the opposite operation from squaring.
##sqrtx## means: give me the number of which ##x## is the square.
Example with non-integer:
##sqrt2=1.414213562…## (this goes on, but NO calculator can give all the decimals), because ##1.414213562…^2=2##
