Cumulus clouds are the puffy clouds or cottony clouds that form on relatively calm conditions from the condensation of water vapor or ice crystals and are often a pre-cursor to other weather. Cumulus clouds don produce rain With continued formation and atmospheric instability they morph into cumulonimbus clouds that do form rain or more serious forms of weather.
