Background Information
In the chapters of Environmental Science: Toward a Sustainable Future, you will read Chapter 15, “Nuclear Power”; Chapter 17, “Environmental Hazards and Human Health”; Chapter 18, “Global Climate Change”; Chapter 19, “Atmospheric Pollution”; Chapter 20, “Water Pollution and Its Prevention”; and Chapter 21, “Municipal Solid Waste: Disposal and Recovery.” These chapters will look more closely at the contaminates that are harmful to the environment and to humans. In Biology through the Eyes of Faith, you will read Chapter 11, “Stewards of Creation”; and Chapter 12, “The Environmental Revolution.”

- Read Chapters 11 and 12 in Biology through the Eyes of Faith.
- From the handout, Workshop Four Post-Reading Questions, choose one question for each chapter. Please note, there are no questions related to Chapter 12 in Biology through the Eyes of Faith for this assignment, but it is still important that you read the chapter.
- Write a short essay to answer each question you selected. The essays are to be typed, double spaced, and each should be approximately one-half to a full page long. Many of the questions contain several parts, so make sure that you have answered all parts of the question and have done any drawings requested.
- When you have completed your assignment, save a copy for yourself and submit a copy to your instructor using the Dropbox by the end of the workshop.
