How do ribose and deoxyribose differ?
February 20th, 2023
Ribose-RNA c5 o5 h8
Deoxyribose-DNA c5 o4 h8
These are the sugars found in RNA and DNA. They both are pentose sugars with five carbon atoms. In deoxyribose as the name suggests it lacks an oxygen atom, most commonly on the 2nd carbon, where it link to the OH group, where there is no O anymore.
