Is NaOH a Bronsted-Lowry base?
February 20th, 2023
Yes. A Bronsted-Lowry base is defined as a compound that pulls H+ ions from another compound (which is, not surprisingly, called a Bronsted-Lowry acid). Because the hydroxide ion in sodium hydroxide is good at pulling H+ ions off of other (including water!), it is a Bronsted-Lowry base.

OK.
