 The Forum of Theodosius (also known as Forum Tauri) was built during the reign of Theodosius I (379-395). It was located on the Mese (the main street of Constantinople) west of the Forum of Constantinople and Hagia    Sophia.                                                                             

During the reign of Theodosius the first, symbols were made by Emperor Valens (364-378). The capital of Constantinople was the capital at the time and was competing with Rome and the other cities, so the assembly was modelled. The Trojans Association in Rome as an effort to compete with the city of Rome.

Theodosius the first, that as Theodosius the great, also known as it was from the year 379 to 395, Emperor, Roman, was the last empire that the two halves of the eastern and western empire of the Roman people to conquer. Thudosius was born in Spain and claimed to be a native Spanish descendant of Trajan, thus mimicking the Trajan community had this additional ideological characteristic. Work on this forum probably began shortly after the victory over Goths in 386 , which appears to be the issue of relief in the Memorial Hall in conversation. While this column appears to be built by 386, the society itself did not open until 393.

The floor plan of the based on basilica, the forum the shape it is rectangular and act in that time  as public space in which the activity can be the time in which the activities of commercial, religious, economic, political, legal and social done. At the center of the rectangular space, it was built in 465. In the north, the pillars of the Theodosius were built on both sides of the statue of his sons, Honorius and Arcadius. The Triumphal arc was on the west side of the forum and the main entrance was from there. The capital was standing in the Northeast Hall. East of forum was occupied by an Ulphia Basilica.

There have been many churches, bathes and other important structures built around it , but the two  most important historical monumental of the Theodosius forum  was column and the Triumphal Arch that we can see.
