Psychosis, which is not just involved in , is essentially a loss of reality.
Psychotic episodes can occur separately from schizophrenia. But psychosis is a common symptom of schizophrenia. It consists for the most part of hallucinations and delusions. That is hearing or seeing things that aren’t really there and believing irrational things, for instance, some psychotic individuals believe the government are after them/stalking them.
